We arrived on Friday night and were pretty exhausted from our flights. Dinner, then bed. (Well, and some Marriott drama, but that was eventually solved and they did a fabulous job of accommodating our event.)
Saturday morning, my mom and brother and I ventured into the Capitol. We were staying right near the airport, so we had to travel quite far on public transportation to get there.
Here's mommy and me in the Metro.
We cruised by the White House. I tried to ask Barack to lunch, but he was busy.
We lunched at Old Ebbitt's Grill. Mom and I ate oysters in honor of Granddad! We perused our map, in search of souvenir shops, flower shops, Metro stops and routes.
Notice the spooky, ghostly Capitol in the background.
Next, we were off to to FBI Building, again to remember Granddad and his life.
Don't even TRY getting in here, yo!
My souvenirs ... They were sold out of "Bo: The First Dog" gear.
Here are pics from the memorial/party!
My brother, Courtney, and me. My brother is named after my Granddad. :)
Daddy my Daddy.
My dad, his little sister Sue, and his big brother Greg
I got to know a bunch of my second cousins, who I had never really spent time with before.

The next day was filled with more flights. Perhaps this "Vintage" water was why I wasn't feeling quite right?
I'm still exhausted and jet-lagged ... but had the best time ever!!
